Websites for Contractors & Home Service Businesses

For plumbers, cleaners and other trades.

A home service business is found on two searches: the trade, and the town. Most contractor sites answer neither well, because they’re one page trying to be everything: a template with a stock photo of a van and a phone number in an image. We build the boring thing that works instead: one page per service, one per area you actually serve, each generated from a single catalogue so nothing drifts out of the sitemap when you add a service.

What usually goes wrong

One page can’t rank for twelve services

If drain cleaning, water heaters and sewer repair all live on the same URL, that URL competes with itself and wins none of them. Each service needs its own page with its own title, its own description and its own structured data.

Page builder sites are slow, and slow costs you the click

The two contractor sites we’ve rebuilt were both on WordPress page builders carrying megabytes of CSS and JavaScript for a layout that renders in kilobytes. On a phone on a job site, that’s the difference between a call and a back button.

Google can’t read a phone number in a JPEG

Contact details set into images, no structured data, no service-area markup. The site says everything to a human and nothing to a search engine. Structured data is how you tell Google what trade you’re in and where you work.

Nobody wants to file a support ticket to change a price

Content that changes lives in typed data files or the shared API, not in markup. Adding a service is one entry, and the navigation, the sitemap and the structured data all follow.
